Elizabeth Jane Hurley was an English actress, model and television star who gained fame in the 1990s when she became Hugh Grant's girlfriend. Hurley became the focus of the media during 1994, after Grant received worldwide recognition due to the popularity in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. Hurley accompanied Grant at the Los Angeles premiere of the film wearing an Versace Dress that had a plunge, and was held with gold safetypins. The highlight of Hurley's professional career has been her association with the cosmetics company Estee Lauder. The company gave Hurley the first model job at age 29 and has employed as models for their products, particularly perfumes such as Sensuous Intuition as well as Pleasures from 1995. The most famous of her roles is her part as Vanessa Kensington, in the popular spy-films International Man of Mystery (2007) and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (2000). Hurley designs and models an exclusive line of swimwear. Perry's early attempts to become famous in the mainstream did not succeed. She has been signed by 2 different record companies, but dropped prior to releasing any music. Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. The title track was a cheerfully flippant song that attracted minimal attention. I Kissed a Girl was a more bold ode to sexism that was that was accompanied by a slashing electro-pop style. I Kissed A Girl became an instant hit, but it soon sparked controversy. Critics argued that it promoted same-sex sexual relations while others said the scenario that depicted in it was more appealing to fantasies of males. However, the mix of polished and titillating melody helped I Kissed a Girl become the number one song in a variety of countries and drove the sales of her album One of the Boys (2008). Hot N Cold was a success in the United States, and the second track on the album Hot N Cold with its sharp tongued bouncy beat also was a hit.
